caring for a puppy

There is a lot to learn about caring for a puppy - initially vaccinations, microchipping, neutering and the flea/worm routines.

Microchip

If your dog is lost or stolen then a microchip is invaluable to identify you as their owner. If you would like to read more about microchips visit our page explaining the procedure and the benefits.

wormer

We follow the followign routine - puppies are wormed every fortnight until 12 weeks then monthly until 6 months. Quarterly thereafter for their life.

We use Drontal and Panacur. Click here to visit an online chemist which sells both suspensions and also frontline spot-on for fleas, available WITHOUT prescription, usually a lot cheaper than your high street vets. Prescription drugs are also available at discounted prices from this online chemist.

spay/neuter

We spay/neuter (or mandatory neutering contract clause) our pups unless you request a puppy suitable for breeding. There are several reasons why we have adopted this policy - for example to prevent unwanted puppies, eliminate mammary tumours, womb infections and unwanted sexual behaviour.
